Holitopa Pet Cemetery

The word Holitopa is a native American word that means precious one.

This cemetery was started because of a great, lifelong love for animals and a concern for their care during life as well as after their passing. Our family has had dozens of wonderful furry family members over the past 128 years and have interred them in the beautiful fields of the property.

This cemetery has been deed restricted to remain a pet cemetery forever. The cemetery will always be protected and remain undisturbed from any future development so that your loved one’s remains can lie in peace.

Our services include home or veterinary pick up of your loved one, opening and closing of the grave, and preparing the body for the final resting place. You may also drop off your loved one by appointment.

You may personalize your loved one’s service in the manner you desire, should you choose to have one. You or a friend may lead the service a manner of your choosing.

Your loved one will receive the same dignified care as a human would receive at a human funeral home. Our belief is that God has blessed us with these wonderful best friends and family members that have stood by us and given us that child-like unconditional love that only they can give, therefore, they deserve our continued respect and love, even into internment.

We can guide you with procurement of grave markers as well as a wooden casket or shroud. Identifying grave markers of natural stone are required.

In some religions, such as Judaism, being wrapped in a simple shroud is used to represent equality, to respect beliefs and traditions. Initially, shrouds were used in the Christian faith to save on costs. But it also allowed a way to say goodbye to the person who died in a respectful way.

Burial plots start at 12×12″ and go to 4×5 feet. You may plant flowers, decorate the grave, place toys, and more.
